PURPLE - requires specialist assessment and patient selection; requires specialist prescribing and monitoring until the patient's dose and condition are reviewed as stable; requires occasional specialist input indefinitely; requires patients remain under specialist care and are not discharged; requires ongoing specialist dose adjustment and management of adverse effects; requires a mutually agreed shared care framework; suitable for on-going prescribing and monitoring in primary care.
